Moonlight Ponderings

Lynn's thoughts on life.

Thought I'd try a new layout....whadaya think? I hope it looks alright. I decided to get rid of my tag board since it was continually being bombarded by spam.

I got my official "we're sorry we can't hire you" letter from the job I interviewed for last week (the one like Rich is doing). I still think its silly that they can't hire me due to Rich's supervisor and the supervisor for this position having the same supervisor. Just seems to me like it shouldn't matter. Rich and I wouldn't be in the same county (about 50 miles apart) or even on the same team. Oh, well. I'll keep looking.

I'm babysitting my 4 (nearly 5) year old neice this week. My sister is starting a new job this week. Rachel (the neice) is starting school (pre-K) the week after next and Debbie (my sister) got a job as a Teacher's Aide at the school Rachel's going to and she has pre-planning next week and no one to watch Rachel. So, she asked me if I could mind watching her and I said no. I like spending time with Rachel, even if she is a Little Miss Smartie Pants (I'm not kidding; the kid has an extremely smart little mouth). It would be nice if they would pay me though, but that's not gonna happen. Ah, well.

Hope everyone has a great week! Not sure when I'll be able to post again, but will try to drop in mid-week. Toodles!!

Things sure have been quite in Blogworld lately (at least at those places I visit). Where is everyone? No doubt enjoying their summer!

Not much has happened here. I'm still looking for a job. Rich is still enjoying his new job. I actually had a job interview on Monday for the same job Rich is doing only in a different county and I think the interview went well, except they told me that since Rich's supervisor and the supervisor for this position would have the same supervisor (i.e. two rungs up), they couldn't hire me for it. It is apparently policy in the State of Georgia. So, I'll keep on looking. I have two applications out for Legal Secretary positions for 2 different law firms, so maybe something will come from one of those.

The only other noteworthy thing I can think of is that Rich and I auditioned for Deal or No Deal. We probably won't get a call back, but it was fun anyway There were hundreds of people there! If anything does develop from it, I'll let you all know!

That's all for now!

Its been a long while since I updated, but its also been a very busy time! I have lots of news.

To all of you who prayed for/were thinking of my dad, thank you very much. He spent 9 weeks in the hospital, 8 of those in ICU (Intensive Care Unit). He was transferred to St Joseph's Hospital in Savannah (a much larger hospital) after the first 2 weeks he spent in the hospital. He has now been home for a week and a half. He is staying with Rich and I since we live in the same town where his doctors are and he has a nurse, nurse's aide and physical therapist who visit him each day to help him recuperate. He has to walk with a walker since he spent so long in bed without walking. We're so happy he's doing so much better. We really didn't think he was going to make it for a while there.

In other news, Rich has a new job. He is working as a Right From the Start Medicaid Specialist. He determines Medicaid eligibility for children under age 18 and pregnant women. He's only doing his training at the moment, but so far he thinks he's really going to enjoy it. The insurance business just wasn't working out. It wasn't brining in enough money, so we had to look at other things. I'm job hunting now, as well. I have around 30 to 40 applications out, so hopefully something will come before too long.

Rich also has his driver's license now and his own car! He now owns a white Dodge Neon. He's very proud of his car and he loves driving. I still have my Chevy Tahoe, though we usually take Rich's car when we go somewhere as it uses less gas. I still love my truck though

In early May I had my annual checkup at the health department. I had to have a tetanus shot and a Hepatitis B shot to bring me up to date on my immunisations. Also got some information on trying to conceive, since Rich and I are trying for a baby. We also got some bad news. The nurse diagnosed me as having Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which is the number one cause of infertility in women She said that it didn't mean that we wouldn't be able to conceive, but that it would be that much harder. There is treatment for PCOS, but the nurse was unable to prescribe it. It must be prescribed by a doctor. So, just as soon as Rich's insurance kicks in, I plan to visit the doctor to see what we can do about it. We had hoped to be able to conceive before the end of the year, but we'll just have to see what the year brings.

I think that about covers what's been going on with us over the last couple of months. I hope everyone else has been doing well. I'm going to try to visit my friends this afternoon and see how everyone else is doing! Bye for now!
